Month 4: August - September

Stats: 14 lbs 6 oz, 26 inches long
Milestones: Holding up head more, giggles, playing with feet

This month was just full of anticipation on my part.  At the end of the month we were taking Emily on her first vacation: Disneyworld!  Disney has been a favorite place for Jim and I.  We were engaged there and we had our honeymoon there.  We couldn't wait to share the fun with Emily.  Although she is not young enough to ever remember it, we still were looking forward to it.

Also this month I started to notice that Emily was getting a bit of a flat spot on the back of her head.  Since she is such a wonderful night sleeper, she spends a lot of time on her back.  And well, she has a preference of turning her head to the right, so it's no surprise this started to happen.  I spoke with the pediatrician and they told me to do what I can to try to get her to turn her head to the left more and try to stretch out her neck muscles a little.

My little lady just keeps getting happier as the months progress, which is a great relief to us.  It was so hard when she would just cry and cry all day long and there was nothing we could to make her happy.  It was emotionally and physically draining.

She is more alert and aware of her surroundings now, however, she is also aware of when mommy isn't holding her.  She developed a touch of separation anxiety and whenever anyone holds her other than mom and dad she tends to get fussy real quick.  It's a bummer since the grandparents want to hold her, but it too shall pass.  It makes mommy feel really loved though!!

That's this month in a nutshell!  We will delve into Disneyworld in a separate post.

 First family picnic!

I think I'm starting to like this thing!

 Hold that head up high!

Boring....
